1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this.

Summer is here and I can taste it. I have alot on my list. Anyone care to share their own?

- Finish reading Dune. Really lovin' this book.
- Watch all five seasons of LOST until season 6 is out. Love love love this show! John Locke  & Desmond = <3.
- "Experience" the whispering wall.
- 'Spot' someone famous but don't bug them. Sadly, I've only seen P.Diddy at a parade. I'm kind of hoping to spot David Byrne or someone equally interesting.
- Go to MoMa in NYC. There is a sweet typography exhibit going on.
- Go to broadway and see The Phantom of the Opera or Addams Family musical. Rather see PoTo.
- Go to Dorney Park in Pennsylvania.
- Coney Island, of course!
- Try mojitos, and some alcoholic beverages that I'm curious about. I don't like the taste of alcohol, so we'll see how this goes.
- Venture around the East Village; it would be awesome to see the spots where my favorite musicians/beat poets hung out, ya know?
- Go to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory.
- Find free stuff to do in NYC. I'm kind of cheap and have limited funds. Plus, sharing funds with two other people.
- Go to the library near my aunt's house in NJ.  It's huge and I love hanging out at libraries. Who doesn't?
- Find my mom a wonderful birthday present in NY.
- Start writing in my journal about my trip and make it a habit.
- Start writing short stories again.
- Be a better cook and baker.
- Take many many photos.
- Start drawing again.
- Spend 4th of July in Pennsylvania (?)
- See Inception in theatres. So excited for this film, it looks amazing. The cast makes me excited! Cotillard, Caine, Watanabe!
- Try to stay in shape while not completely depriving myself of all the yummy food in this city!
- Possibly plan a trip to see my old highschool buddies again.
- Watch the world cup games.
- Change my major at college for the fourth time.
- Start looking for a JOB after my NY trip is over :(
- Watch the films on my netflix that I have always wanted to see. Grey Gardens, for instance. Films = my life.
- Keep learning & practicing French.
- Renew my prescription + get new glasses.
- See "Bride of Frankenstein" at the Paramount on the big screen.
- Read alot of world literature + books on physics.
- Start saving money to possibly go to Puerto Rico + big Europe trip next year (it's going to happen, dammit.)

"You live like this, sheltered, in a delicate world, and you believe you are living. Then you read a book, or you take a trip, and you discover that you are not living, that you are hibernating. The symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable: first, restlessness. The second symptom (when hibernating becomes dangerous and might degenerate into death): absence of pleasure. That is all. It appears like an innocuous illness. Monotony, boredom, death. Millions live like this (or die like this) without knowing it. They work in offices. They drive a car. They picnic with their families. They raise children. And then some shock treatment takes place, a person, a book, a song, and it awakens them and saves them from death."

"Many many men have been troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You'll learn from them -- if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It's a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn't education. It's history. It's poetry."
